Our Legacy Giving Program helps you learn how to take care of yourself, your family, and your community through a charitable annuities. Anyone can leave a legacy and at any level.
A charitable gift annuity is a gift instrument that provides payments during a donor's lifetime in return for a charitable gift. After the donor passes away, the charitable gift is used for the ongoing support of the community or other non-profit purposes designated by the donor. During the donor’s lifetime, annuity payments can begin immediately or can be deferred for a period determined by the donor and set forth in an annuity contract.
Montana law only permits charities above a certain threshold of financial strength to issue gift annuities. Park County Community Foundation qualifies under Montana law, and already holds multiple charitable annuity contracts.

Step 1: Because of the time needed to set up a charitable annuity, inquiries initiated prior to December have a better opportunity of completion before the end of the tax year. Please start by letting us know of your philanthropic interests, so we can clarify your charitable goals, and the tax benefit and income that you would like to achieve.
Step 2: Contact your financial manager or attorney to choose the type of charitable annuity that is best for you as there are many types. The community foundation can be the recipient of the charitable gift or it can go to another of your favorite causes. Park County Community Foundation’s Federal Tax ID is: #20-5581763.
Step 3: PCCF provides you with scenarios of how your charitable annuity could benefit you, your family, and the community in terms of both tax benefits, income, and charitable giving.
Step 4: An annuity contract is drawn up and co-signed to formalize the agreement, and then we welcome you to the Legacy Program!
